The Hibernating Hermit

It’s no secret that when the pandemic began, I was strung out with my feet in way too many activities , also trying to work and live and all that stuff . I was so relieved to back away from activities.

Well this week our corner of creation is being reminded that it’s winter in a very chilly way . I feel like winter is very feast or famine this year. But I’m quite happy to use the excuse to stay home . More about that later.

I really, really love this new website. Having the integrated blog has to be one of my new favorite things. It’s very mobile friendly and you have to know that I’ve missed writing blog posts.

The website is one stop for all of our business adventures, blog posts , catalogs and commerce on the go. It’s so much better than websites and blogs used to be.

One thing I love about blogging is sharing wonderful discoveries with you. Case in point: Jean-Henri Fabre. Mr. Fabre was a French naturalist and entomologist that wrote several books that are supposed to be quite fun and lively. I love any book that makes learning fun. I was pleasantly surprised when my friend sent me a copy of his Insect book shown above. During my hermit hibernation I intend to read it and prep it for spring school studies. .
She also sent a cookbook : I’ll save that for another day.

Before I begin my journey with this new adventure, I wanted to give some shout out thank you’s.

I have so many of you to thank and can’t list them all on one post , but will begin with these:

To Sharon for always encouraging with gifts to expand our minds and our businesses. Sharon seems to know exactly what I need just when I need it. I’ll see a book recommendation, or have a business need and I’ll put it in my Amazon list for later, and next thing you know it’s on my door step, always with perfect timing. Thank you, Sharon. Many times your gifts have brought tears to my eyes and always excitement.

To Heidi and Adrianna for answering a billion and one questions. And then some. Also for pushing me to do what is best for us. Ive bounced much off of you I’ve the last year. You are great for bouncing it right back.

To Stephanie, Bobbi , Tera , Pam for watching Stephen on a moments notice more than once. Some of you have taken Stephen for hours on end. You’ve taken him to activities and helped make things easier for this single momma. Anyone that notices that need and acts on it deserves a special place in heaven.

Ive so many more to thank but I’ll stop there for the moment .

When I was trying to figure out a domain name and new website name. One name I tried was “The Happy Hermit “. It was taken, but I’m telling you I am a very VERY happy hermit. I should’ve tried “The Happiest Hermit”. I’d challenge any hermit to be happier in their hermatizing than I am!

Next I tried “The Crafty Hermit .”
Taken.

So I just kept with my business name that my son in law (of all people) picked out . Funny isn’t it? Names are funny things .

———-

Since last year I’ve wanted to be able to set aside two weeks without interruptions to get my business boosted . This website is done , my sales tax was a mess thanks to former life and it’s all fixed , I’m working on learning the vast compliancy mess. And the weather is AWFUL so I’m so not sad that we get the excuse to stay home for the next ten days. Sorry to my Midwest friends that it took an arctic blast to get my two weeks.

For me, it’s Business On!
