Stephen began sewing “in the hoop” embroidery designs and selling them at local craft markets at the age of 9. By age 10, he had saved enough money to pay for and earn his SCUBA certification. That same year he adopted 7 different families for Christmas, using part of his earnings to buy their gifts. Currently Stephen is saving money to pursue flying lessons when he turns 12.

Tonya was once an accomplished English Paper Piecing quilt designer with a popular blog known as “Hillbilly Handiworks”, eventually changing the name to “Hillbilly Quilt Shop” when she began selling her quilt designs.
But this was short lived, as Tonya’s husband (Stephen’s Daddy) became ill with multiple health issues. Eventually Tonya had to give up quilt design for more important life matters.
A year after her husband passed away, Tonya realized that Stephen was having some emotional hardships with her weird work schedule. So, she walked off the job determined to stay home with Stephen until his teenage years.
Knowing Stephen would need to be busy at craft shows while she was marketing her own items, she spent a year getting Stephen’s business off the ground. Finally, she is pursuing her own ideas and putting her love of textile design to work in her one of a kind clothing items for dogs and dolls. Being able to stay home with Stephen is her daily motivation.
