Forward to the Past

As almost all of you know, during my Ms. Hillbilly season of life, I really enjoyed blogging. The old blog might have been a “quilt blog” but I tossed so much life into it that it became so much more than that. In fact, that blog is how I got to know many of you. Add in the fabric store and between the two, my social network was HUGE.

Of course, after the embarrassment of losing the business and then dealing with Jerry’s health, only the few faithful remained. I love the few faithful. Many of you I am very close to.

In Mid- March we were unexpectedly hurled into some more life experiences that took me on another new “life experience coaster”. I am still not off that coaster and won’t be for a bit. But in the midst, it became very evident to me that it was time to let go of some social media accounts. Unlike many that have left social media in recent months, I am not choosing to back away for political or religious reasons. But rather, for personal reasons.

Facebook is going to be my biggest social media change. While I will continue to have a “presence” there, I have pretty much shut down my personal page. I’ll still remain active in groups, watching my friend’s posts, and self-posting for our business pages. But on the personal level, I am done with daily updates. I’ve posted updates almost daily for many years and I am just kind of tired of them.

It hit me the other day, why don’t I just quit then? Why don’t I just move forward to the past? Unlike in Back to the Future, when you move Forward to the Past, you don’t need a DeLorean. You just step back there, and move forward.

Before we go to far, let me just say that I do not plan to begin quilting again. (Sorry friends!)

What I am hinting at is, I am going way, way back to where it all began years ago. I am going back to blogging more full time rather than posting on Facebook.

I know that people don’t read blogs too much anymore. That’s ok. This will be my little outlet (Because I love a good writing session), and it will be here for those of you that want to know how life is going.

As before, I’ll blog about our life. I’ll share how Stephen is doing; about his progress and you all can still watch him grow up as you’ve always done.
I’ll blog about my business and his when it is necessary to share various things.
But just as in the past, I’ll also just share all sorts of fun.
I hope it is worth your read.
And it is so nice to get away from posting on Facebook. If you go look at my personal page you won’t see much. I’ve removed all posts up until the point I begin again with sharing this blog post.
I am very excited about the opportunity to take the time to write thoughtful, heartfelt posts again.

Welcome everyone! You are now moving Forward to the Past!
(Perhaps there is something in your past that you let go of that needs a revisit as well? The pandemic has left our world angry, confused, hurt… all the feelings. Moving back to something that is near to your heart might just be what you need to get past the last couple of years and positively move forward!)
